Health Risk Assessments

Health Risk Assessments

As health insurance costs continue to create challenges for employers, many employers are turning to health risk assessments (HRA) to gather information about their company health risks.   But all HRA's are not created equally. HRA's fall under the category of wellness programs.

For an HRA implementation to have real effect, the HRA must be adopted in tandem with a program that measures return on investment.  Costs for HRA's vary and may have a tacit impact on costs if simply initiated without a long-term strategy to impact employees.

The following are among the many questions you should ask when considering a wellness program.
Does your wellness measure productivity?
How is the HRA measured relative to chronic conditions?
Is there quantifiable information to calculate return on investment?
How is the HRA aligned with utilization management?
Is prescription adherence measured?
Is biometric information uploaded into each employee's HRA?
These are only a few of the many questions that should be asked when offering a wellness program that includes an HRA.  Feel free to contact our office to learn more about the wellness programs that we offer.
